Gone but not forgotten.

Rhoda Beth SOMMERFELDT (nee MAY) passed away Wednesday, May 21, 2008 at Joseph‚s Creek
Extended Care Facility, Cranbrook, BC at the age of 89 years.

She was born to Ben Hugh May and Ruby Lillian MAY (nee MORRIS) on November 1, 1918 in Aetna,
Alberta, and was the youngest girl of nine children. She grew up in Aetna and Cardston where she
graduated from school. She attended one year at Brigham Young University before being married
to Ferdinand Richard SOMMERFELDT on January 13, 1939 in the Cardston Temple.
They lived at Whisky Gap, AB, Cranbrook and in Yahk, BC, for the past 39 years.

Rhoda loved music (singing and playing the piano), dancing, gardening, cross word puzzles,
and serving in the Church.

She is survived by her husband of 69 years; four children, Richard (Dick Jr.) (Pauline) of Yahk, BC;
Daniel (Shirley) of Raymond, AB; Patricia (Ken) Tanner of Whitehorse, YT; and Donald (Melanie)
of Yahk, BC; 19 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by two brothers,
Claude MAY of Seba Beach, AB and Gary MAY of Kindersley, SK.

A Funeral Service was held in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Erickson, BC
on Monday May 26, 2008 at 2:00 pm with Bishop Robert Leduc officiating. Friends may meet
the family at the Church between 1:00 and 1:45 pm prior to the funeral. Graveside Service
and Interment in the Cardston Cemetery on Tuesday, May 27, 2008 at 2:00 p.m.
Friends wishing to make a memorial contribution may do so to a Disaster Fund of their choice.
