My great grandfather, August SOMMERFELD, was born about 1841 in Zabno
(near Mogilno), Posen, Germany. August, his wife, Henrietta BEHNKE, and
4 of their 5 children arrived at Ellis Island on July 6, 1893. According to the
ship manifest, their destination appears to read Eagle Bend, Minnesota.
The family's first home was at Parkers Prairie, Minnesota.
