SOMMERFELD / JESIKIEWICZ.

I am searching for information regarding my ggf Walenty SOMMERFELD, born 8 Feb
1865 in what I believe to be Prussia. His death certificate says he was born in Poland.
His petition for naturalization (under 18 years) says he was born in 1875 and arrived
in New York on 1 May 1892. I assume that he said he was born in 1875 in order to pay
the under-age passage fee to the US; he would have been 17 had he been born
in 1875 as opposed to his real age of 27. His petition is dated 3 Feb. 1906 which is
several months before more information was required on the petitions. It states that
he renounces allegiance to Emperor William II whom I understand was the Emperor
of Prussia at that time.

He married Mary JESIKIEWICZ and had two children born in Poland before
coming to this country. They then had four more children. He lived in Westmoreland
County, PA and died on 10 Nov 1944. He was a coal drawer. The 1920 census states
that he arrived in 1895 and was naturalized in 1900. It also states he was born in Galicia
and so were his parents. I don't know if this is true; I am confused about that. I have
looked at passenger lists of vessels arriving in NY around the May 11 1892 date and
was unsuccessful in finding him. I have been told he arrived with his older brother, Mike.

My gf, Joseph SOMMERFIELD, was Walenty and Mary's son. His college professor
decided to change my gf's surname to SOMMERFIELD because that was the "correct"
spelling, and so all his family's surname is spelled the same way. Any and all help
appreciated. Thank you.

Hi to all:
I am searching for the birthplace of my ggf, Walenty SOMMERFELD, born in
Poland Feb. 1865 (or 1866). I have a copy of his death certificate, Petition
of Naturalization (underage) dated Feb. 1906, and the 1920 US census which
shows he arrived in the US in 1895 and he was from Galicia (which I don't
believe to be true).
His Petition only states he was from Germany and renounced allegiance to
Emperor William II. The ship's manifest listing says he was from Germany and
would be going to South Amboy, NJ.

He was married to Mary JESIKIEWICZ and they had two children, born in
1892 and 1895, before coming to the US and having four more children here.

The family lived in Scottdale, PA, in Westmoreland County.

I have a copy of what I believe to be Mary's brother's baptismal certificate.
The brother was born in Chlebowo, diocese of Gniezno, in 1870.
I believe Mary was born in 1866. Mary also had a sister, Pearl.

My question: Would Walenty and Mary have gotten married in the same
church as she was baptized ? I believe they would have been married in the
late 1880s or around 1890. If they were married in the same church,
St. Nicholas in the village of Czescewo, as she had been baptized,
then where do I write for information ?

Thank you for any help you can provide.
